Photo Shoot with Paul Feradas

I had the pleasure of working on a shoot with my good friend Paul this weekend. It was nice to finally put my sunbounce reflectors and sun swatter to use. I must say the sun swatter got the most love. It worked great as both a defuser for cutting the harsh sun as well as when placed close to a model, it bacame a really nice soft light source. In these two shots take from my new Mamiya AFD II and Leaf Aptus 75, you can see the huge differnce in light quality placing the sun swatter between the model and the late afternoon sun.

I had a great opportunity to work with Paul Ferradas on a shoot in San Jose California while at Salon Blue. Talk about a great team of people.. I even had the opportunity to pull out my old Mamiya 645 and snap a few shots.

I was able to take my new (to me) Leica M6 out for a spin yesterday. These images were shot using a Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.5 lens. It was really interesting trying to focus with a range finder. It uses an interesting "dual image" approach to focusing that worked rather well actually. Now to just get better with it.
